Is this just 'toxic positivity' repackaged?
Absolutely not. Toxic positivity means maintaining a positive mindset at all cost — even if it means invalidating or ignoring your true feelings such as sadness, anger, or frustration. Such emotions when repressed can cause depression, shame, resentment, and even illnesses. We understand your scepticism and want to assure you that this is about understanding the full gamut of your emotions so you can live with complete authenticity.
I have a high IQ, why do I need this course?
IQ and EQ are quite different things. You may have a high Intelligence Quotient and still lack the basic skills to compute your emotional experience
Why is it called 'Panning for Gold'?
Panning, in mining was a way of separating gold from other particle deposits in a pan. The metaphor captures the essence of salvaging ‘hidden treasure’ from an otherwise seemingly hopeless or difficult situation, as a place to begin to embrace all of life.
What if my situation is unacceptable?
We differentiate between the notion of acceptance – that something has happened – from acceptability – that it is acceptable and therefore you would choose for it to happen. Acceptance in the first sense can be a step out of what is keeping us stuck.
What if I am not naturally resilient?
Well then this course is perfect for you. Many of our ways of coping and respomnding to stress are learned behaviour and the good news is that with the right tools we can build our threshold for resilience.
I already have a gratitude practice, can I still take this course?
That is wonderful. Scientific studies back up the fact that those who practice gratitude regularly have higher resilience in the tough times. This course will hone those skills and add dimension to an already powerful practice.
