FAQ

Are you ready to rise above your dilemmas and gain a new perspective? Join us in Higher Ground and embark on a journey towards clarity, objectivity, and effective solutions.

Can humans really be objective?

That is the crux of the issue, right? While we might not be able to be truly 100% objective, we can bring awareness to our cognitive biases which may help us move closer to a balanced account of the situation

What is 'higher ground'?

The term higher ground is used in the context of a flood situation, when one is advised to move to higher ground so they can get a clearer view of what is going on, and of course, avoid being drowned. In a similar way, when we are feeling emotionally overstimulated or overwhelmed by demands, sometimes we need to take a step back to gain clarity for our circumstances. The notion of seeking higher ground is not to be confused with ‘taking the high ground’ which is believing one’s opinion is morally superior to another’s.

Can I take this course with my partner?

Yes. Couples sometimes get stuck in a pattern of polarised thinking and it can be helpful to have a third party as it were to help generate new perspectives. It is also a nice way of having things on which you collaborate (this course!) to bring you closer together.

Can you run this as a corporate workshop?

Employers may wish to commission a workshop for their staff teams. If this is the case, you can reach out via the Contact page.

Is this course only for teams?

No. We find that even if you are the only one offering a fresh perspective in your partnership or team, it can still significantly change or disarm unhelpful dynamics.

Do you work 1-1?

Yes, we recommend takingthe group workshop first, simply due to the number of people present it offers perspectives you may not have thought about. However if you would like to follow this up with an individual session to tackle your particular dilemma, it’s possible.
